Trail Running in Highland Lakes
The Wawayanda Trail Fest takes place in Highland Lakes, New Jersey, starting from the boat launch in Vernon Township. The event offers participants the opportunity to run through varied natural terrain within the park system.
The course features multiple types of underfoot conditions, including gravel roads and single track trails. The route is characterized by specific environmental features such as marsh bridges and extensive sections of rhododendron tunnels.
Participants can choose from four distinct race distances:
- 100K
- 50 Miles
- 50K
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
The event introduces the 100K distance back into the schedule for the 2026 edition alongside the established ultramarathon and half marathon options.
