Wawayanda Trail Fest : April 25, 2026
Wawayanda Trail Fest is a trail running event at Wawayanda State Park, Hewitt, New Jersey, with multiple distance options. Distances offered include:
- 100K - Full Loop x 2
- 50 Mile - Full Loop x 2 + South Loop
- 50K - Full Loop (North and South)
- Half Marathon - 1 loop (~13 miles, possibly closer to 14)
Course, aid stations and logistics
The course winds through the hills of northern New Jersey and features rhododendron tunnels, marsh bridges, gravel road and single-track sections. The full loop is reported as 26+ miles and has only two road crossings, both inside the park. The Start/Finish and parking are at the boat ramp / boathouse parking lot. Competitors are advised to use the east park entrance off Warwick Turnpike because the west entrance is a seasonal gate and may not be open.
There are three aid stations: Maraschino, BaseCamp and Thirsty Dog (H2O only). Maraschino is about 7 miles into the first loop and does not allow crews, spectators or drop bags. BaseCamp is adjacent to the Start/Finish and parking and is the designated location for crews, pacers and spectators. Aid station visits by distance: Half - 1 aid station (Maraschino); 50K - 4 visits; 50 Mile - 7 visits. Pacers are allowed for 50K, 50 Mile and 100K at designated miles; pacers are not allowed for the half. Camping onsite Friday night is available for a $10 fee per group. Every finisher receives a finisher award; top awards are given 1st-3rd in Non-Binary, Female and Male categories for each distance.
