2026 Wawasee Kiwanis Sprint Triathlon
The Wawasee Kiwanis Sprint Triathlon is scheduled for July 25, 2026 at the Syracuse Community Center and Syracuse Lakeside Park on the north side of Syracuse, Indiana, along Syracuse Lake. The event is USAT sanctioned and limits individual entries to 300.
The race format is a sprint triathlon with the following distances:
- 1/4 mile (400 m) swim
- Approximately 13.5 miles (about 21.7 km) bike
- 3.1 miles (5 km) run
All participants must wear an assigned timing chip and are responsible for returning it or paying a replacement fee. Teams receive a single chip and must transfer it inside the guarded transition area, where only participants may enter. Bike helmets must remain fastened before, during and after cycling. Headphones and earbuds are prohibited.
Age is determined by the participant's age on December 31 of the event year. The minimum age to compete is 15 years and standard USAT age-group divisions apply. Photo ID is required to pick up race packets; USAT members must show their membership card or pay the one-day permit fee.
Awards are planned for overall male and female winners, age-group places, Clydesdales, Athenas and teams. The event is sponsored by the Wawasee Kiwanis Club and proceeds support their charitable programs. There are no refunds if the race is canceled for reasons beyond the race committee control.
