Waves of Education 5k Run/Walk
The Waves of Education 5th Annual event is a community-focused gathering in Clark, New Jersey, held at Oak Ridge Park. This event features a 5K course that is described as fast and scenic, catering to participants who wish to run or walk the distance. While the event is organized as a fun run, official timing is provided for the first 20 participants who cross the finish line. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers.
Beyond the main race, the event includes various activities for different age groups and interests. Participants can join a pre-race yoga stretch or observe age-based races designed specifically for children. The venue hosts a broader festival atmosphere with a range of entertainment options including a magician, face painting, caricatures, and lawn games. Raffles and prizes are part of the scheduled activities, and food is available on-site for attendees.
The event supports educational initiatives for children in Uganda through the Waves of Education organization. In addition to the in-person gathering, a virtual participation option is available for those who cannot attend at the park. Participants aged 12 and under are eligible for a discount on their registration fees.
