Watermelon Days 5K Run/Walk, Fayette IA
The Watermelon Days 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Fayette, Iowa. The 18th annual road race begins at the corner of Main Street and Water Street by DG, follows a road course that connects to a paved trail leading to the Big Rock Golf Course, and returns to downtown Fayette for a finish on Main Street.
Registration is listed at $20 and increases to $30 on race day. Runners who register by August 21st are guaranteed a t-shirt; t-shirts are not guaranteed after that date.
Awards and raffle prizes are presented at the finish. Post-race activities include Belgian waffles at the Methodist Church at 207 Clark Street. The community schedule also features the Watermelon Day Parade and a kids dash for ages 1 to 10 on Main Street following the parade. Finisher ribbons are given in the kids dash.
