About the race
The ASICS Waterfront Half Marathon is a multi-distance running event based at Base Spaces in Wynyard Quarter, Auckland, scheduled for Sunday 11 April 2027. The event offers these race distances:
- 21k Half Marathon
- 10k Classic
- 5k Fun Run and Walk
- 2k Kids Dash
The course is a single-lap, out-and-back route from the city waterfront to the eastern beaches with a largely flat profile. The route passes waterfront landmarks including Silo Park and the Gantry, the Ferry Building, Bastion Point, Mission Bay Fountain and a turnaround near Kohimarama. The finish area sits among the cafes and restaurants of North Wharf.
Event logistics include numbered race bibs with timing tags that must be worn on the front of the shirt, a self-service Gear Drop area with numbered aisles and a Key Drop container, and a race number collection window prior to race day. The Gear Drop is uncovered and operates on an all care, no responsibility basis; participants are advised to label items and not leave valuables.
Aid stations are located about every 3 to 4 kilometres and supply water and a sport drink. Public toilets are available on course at Quay Street, Okahu Bay, Mission Bay and Kohimarama, and additional facilities are provided near the event venue. All registered finishers receive a commemorative finisher medal and a post-race snack with nearby water and electrolyte tents; live timing is provided from every kilometre and results are published in real time.
