Water & Windmill 10 Miler
The Water and Windmill 10 Miler is a guided trail run of 10 miles (16 km) with about 170 m of ascent. The route follows local canals and waterways, passes reservoirs and goes by Britain’s oldest post windmill. Runners pass through fields, climb hills and run alongside water with views up towards the Chilterns and from the hilltops.
The event includes a run leader who stays with the group, trail technique instruction from an experienced guide and information about the local area and environment. Participants are grouped by ability. Entry now includes a finisher’s medal as a new addition for 2026.
Practical details include on-site parking, a 15 minute walk from the nearby rail station, and facilities at the start such as a cafe, toilets and a bag drop. The event is dog friendly for participants using cani cross equipment; running with a collar is not allowed. A mandatory kit list applies and personal insurance and travel are not included in the entry.
There are 40 spaces available. Ability guidance requires participants to be able to run 10 km on the road in 90 minutes or less; first time trail runners are welcome under this requirement. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
