Washington Running Club - Bottoms Up Cup
Washington Running Club stages an annual summer 5 km event called the Bottoms Up Cup that runs through Princess Anne Park in the centre of Washington. The event is based at St Robert of Newminster School in Fatfield where registration takes place and parking is available.
The course has been adjusted over time to reduce congestion and increase speed but still includes several hills and some trail sections. Most of the route is on pavement so road shoes are suitable. The event is licensed under UKA licence 28956 and the minimum age for the main race is 14 or older.
Prizes and awards include trophies for the fastest male and female in both the adult and over 40s categories. Cash prizes are offered for male and female places one to three and for first place in the over 40s male and female categories.
A 1 mile fun run is held before the main race with entries available on the day for £2.50. Entry fees for the main race are shown as UKA member £11.00 and non member £13.00. Entries open and close on published dates. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
