Washington Running Club - Bottoms Up Cup

Washington Running Club stage an annual road and trail race called the Bottoms Up Cup. The event is scheduled for 2 July 2026 and is routed through Princess Anne Park in the centre of Washington. St Robert of Newminster School in Fatfield serves as the registration base and offers parking.

Distances include:

  • 5 km main race through the park and nearby streets
  • 1 mile fun run held before the main race with on the day entry available

The course has been adjusted over the years to provide a faster and less congested route while retaining some hills and short trail sections. Most of the route is on pavement so road shoes are suitable.

Prizes are awarded to the fastest male and female in the adult and over 40s categories and trophies are presented at the end of the race. Cash prizes are offered for male and female 1st to 3rd places, plus 1st place for male and female over 40.

Entries opened on 4 April 2026 and close on 1 July 2026. Minimum age for the event is 14 or older. Entry fees are listed as UKA Member £11.00 and Non Member £13.00. Fun run entries on the day are £2.50. The event holds UKA licence number 28956. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
