About the race
The Warwickshire Triathlon takes place at Stratford Leisure Centre in Stratford-upon-Avon on Sunday 4 October 2026. The event combines pool swimming, road cycling and a towpath run set around the River Avon and the Warwickshire countryside. The swim uses the leisure centre's heated indoor 33 metre pool. Swim distances are completed by counting pool lengths: sprint events use 12 lengths (400m) and super sprint and fun events use 6 lengths (200m).
The bike uses a single 18 km lap on a flat countryside route. The run is an out-and-back course along the River Avon with a 2.5 km lap; sprint events do two laps for a 5 km run and super sprint and fun events do one lap for 2.5 km. Timing is electronic and all finishers receive an official medal. Competitors must count their own swim lengths and bike and run laps.
A cycle helmet is compulsory for the bike section. Relay teams may consist of two or three people, with each member completing one or two disciplines and passing the electronic chip in transition; team members may cross the finish line together. A CRUK Wave offers the 200m swim, 18 km cycle and 2.5 km run while supporting Cancer Research UK. Race packs are collected on the day and competitor race day information is emailed 7 to 10 days before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
