Walking Beside Kaden 5K Run/Walk
This event is a community 5K run/walk held at Autumn Arch Beer Project on Pencader Drive in Newark, DE. It supports the Epilepsy Foundation of Delaware and an individual identified by the organizer. Registration categories include a competitive walking division that requires participants to walk the entire course and a general 5K run/walk category. A student discount of five dollars is applied for entrants 18 years and under. Guest passes provide access to food and alcoholic beverages without race entry; alcohol is available only to those 21 years and older.
The event offers race shirts, one free beer ticket to Autumn Arch, beer and seltzer, multiple food trucks and coffee service, and Autumn Arch pizza. Awards include top overall male and female, top masters, age group medals from 13 and under through 80 and over, awards for top walkers, a trophy for the largest team, and a prize for the largest fundraiser. Top overall and masters awards are scored by gun time; other age groups use chip net time. Timing is provided by R2R Timing using the MYLAPS BibTag system. Results will be posted online during the event and finalized after the race. Sponsorship levels are offered including tiered packages up to one thousand dollars.
