AZ Walk of Courage
The AZ Walk of Courage is a running and walking event scheduled for March 22, 2026. It will be held at Rio Vista Park in Peoria, Arizona. This is the 7th annual edition of the event.
Event Format and Courses
The event offers several distances on which participants can run or walk. Separate course maps are available for each route.
- A 10K run/walk
- A 5K run/walk
- A 1 Mile fun run/walk
All courses start and finish at Rio Vista Park and use the asphalt and concrete paths of the open-use New River Trail System. A virtual run option is also available for those who cannot attend in person.
Beneficiary
The event was created to advocate for burn survivors, raise awareness, and build a community. Proceeds benefit Changed by Fire, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting burn survivors and their families, as well as other local organizations.
Registration and Awards
Registration fees vary by distance and date. There are tiered prices for early and regular registration, with higher fees on race day. All in-person participants receive a custom finisher's medal and a dri-fit tech t-shirt. Age group awards are given for the top three finishers in all age groups for the 10K and 5K events.
Additional Information
Packet pickup is available the day before the event at Tortoise and Hare Sports in Glendale or on race day starting at 7:00 AM. The event is leashed-pet friendly and welcomes wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons. It is managed by StartLine Racing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
