Event Overview
The AZ Walk of Courage takes place in Peoria, Arizona, at Rio Vista Park. This event offers multiple participation options on a course that utilizes the New River Trail System. The routes consist of asphalt and concrete dedicated running trails. As the course is held on an open-use trail system, the paths remain open to the public during the event. Both the start and finish lines are located within the park near the playground area.
Distance Options
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 10 km Run/Walk
- 5 km Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
- Virtual Run for participants within the United States
Participant Information
The event is chip-timed, providing real-time results and photos. Participants receive a custom finisher's medal and a dri-fit tech t-shirt. Age group awards are provided to the top three finishers in various categories, ranging from ages 8 and under to 80 and over. A "Runner's Brunch" featuring fruit, granola bars, water, and Gatorade is available before and after the race.
The course is accessible for wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons. Leashed pets are also permitted to participate. However, motorized devices, skateboards, and roller blades/skates are prohibited. There is no bag check available at the site. Packet pick-up is scheduled for the day prior to the event at a local sports store in Glendale, as well as on the morning of the event at the race location.
