Walk for Kidney Health 5K - Buffalo Outer Harbor
The Walk for Kidney Health is a community fundraising event on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at Lakeside Lawn, Buffalo Outer Harbor, 825 Fuhrmann Boulevard, Buffalo, NY. The event raises awareness of kidney disease, recognizes people affected by kidney disease, honors organ donors and remembers those lost. Sponsorships, team fundraising and individual donations support the Kidney Foundation of WNY’s outreach, education, patient support and advocacy programs. The fundraising goal is $100,000; $25,103 has been raised so far.
The morning program includes music, recognition of community members, community health resources, games, a one-mile fun walk and a timed 5K. Sponsors listed for 2026 include DaVita, ECMC, Atwal Eye Care, Feel Rite Fresh Markets, ConnectLife and other supporting partners.

Online registration remains open until race day and packet pickup occurs at Lakeside Lawn on race morning. Participants who register by Friday, August 21 are guaranteed an official event shirt in their requested size. Fee information is listed for in-person and virtual options; the one mile awareness walk uses free registration without a shirt.
Parking is available along Fuhrmann Boulevard and in an event parking lot with a nearby entrance at 869 Fuhrmann Boulevard. Professional RFID timing and finish services are provided; results are available through mobile apps and online. In case of foul weather or other safety concerns the organizers may reschedule or convert the event to a virtual format; there are no refunds.
