Hangover Hustle 5K & Miniest Mini Marathon

The Hangover Hustle is an informal New Year’s Day gathering that was turned into a formal event and is running its third annual edition on January 1, 2027. The event takes place at South Coast Cookhouse, 423 Derby Rd, Crystal Beach, Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada, and keeps a casual, no frills approach to racing.

There are two distances offered:

5 km following the Crystal Beach 5K certified course.
500 m Miniest Mini Marathon, approximately 500 metres, starting in front of South Coast Cookhouse at the corner of Erie and Derby, heading north up and around Queen Circle and returning to South Coast.

The event does not use official chip timing; only a stopwatch time is recorded for first place finishers. There are no individual categories or technical prizes beyond finishers prizes. Participants receive a shirt though registrants after December 10 are not guaranteed a shirt. No day of registration is available. The gathering includes a free Caesar, South Coast chicken wings, and live music by the Feverish Lemons. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
