38th Annual Walk for Hunger & 5K Run
The 38th Annual Walk for Hunger & 5K Run takes place in Cleveland, Ohio. This community event is held at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, located at 3900 Wildlife Way. The primary goals of the event are to raise awareness regarding hunger and to generate funds for the Hunger Network's mission to provide food for local communities.
Participants can choose between two main physical activities:
- 5K Run: A USATF-certified 5K course located within the zoo grounds.
- 1 Mile Walk: A shorter walking route designed for attendees.
The event includes a morning program with a kick-off and warm-up session before the start of the athletic activities. A conclusion program follows the run and walk. Registration includes specific benefits, such as a t-shirt for those who register before the early May deadline. Additionally, participants receive all-day admission to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on the day of the event.
Beyond the run and walk, there is an option to register as a cheerleader to support the participants. The event also facilitates team participation and individual fundraising efforts to support the Hunger Network. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
