Vulcan's Fury Trail Race
Vulcan's Fury Trail Race takes place at Pawtuckaway State Park in Nottingham, New Hampshire. The event offers two trail distances and runs over rugged terrain that includes a massive boulder field, dense forest, single-track switchbacks, streams, bridges, and a rocky slope called the Devil's Staircase. The organizer notes the course follows hiking trails with sections that must be negotiated carefully.

Aid stations on the long course are located near Round Pond (mile 4.3), at the corner of Mountain Road and South Ridge Connector (mile 7.4), and at the Mountain Trail Woronoco split (mile 10.4). The half marathon has time cutoffs at aid station 2 and at aid station 3; runners who do not meet those cutoffs will be transported back to the start/finish.
Registration details include no day of registration and no early bib pickup; bib pickup on race day is scheduled in a limited window for registered participants. GPX files are provided for both the half marathon and the 5-mile course. For 2026 the event lists $7,500 in prize money and is dated October 11, 2026.
