Voorheesville Memorial Day Races
The Voorheesville Memorial Day Races are part of the Village of Voorheesville’s Memorial Day commemorations. The event includes multiple running and walking options that pass through the village, quiet roads beneath the Helderberg Escarpment, and a section through orchards at Indian Ladder Farms.
Distances offered:
- 3.2K Run
- 3.2K Fun Walk
- 15K Run
There is a combined participant cap of 250 across the races. Race start and finish locations are on Voorheesville Avenue with official course maps on display at the race registration and officials tent. Registration and timing are handled by an external event company.
Children’s Dashes are free, held near the tennis courts in Jim Nichols Park, organized informally by school year, and typically run by participants up through fourth or fifth grade. Dashes are short runs of about 30 to 50 yards and event ribbons are provided.
Hydration stations are placed at approximately 1, 3, 5, and 8 miles. Participants are asked to bring their own hydration systems such as a running belt, sports bottle, or collapsing cup; disposable paper cups will be available in limited supply.
Awards include gift cards to local businesses and recognitions by overall place, age group, first veteran, and first Voorheesville resident. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
