Virginia Credit Union River City Half & River City 5k
The Virginia Credit Union River City event offers in-person and virtual options on the University of Richmond campus in Richmond, Virginia. The event program includes a half marathon and a 5k, with separate virtual entries available.

Both courses travel over and along the James River and pass through established neighborhoods and outdoor areas such as Pony Pasture, Riverside Meadows, Windsor Farms, and the Gambles Mill Corridor. The half marathon route crosses the Huguenot Bridge and the Nickel Bridge, passes the historic Carillon, and returns to the University of Richmond campus. The 5k runs along River Road, includes an out and back over the Huguenot Bridge, and finishes near Westhampton Lake.
Participants receive a long sleeve technical shirt, a finisher medal, a bib with chip timing, and access to a post race festival with two drink tickets. The half marathon entry additionally includes a branded canvas tote. Packet pick up is scheduled the Friday before the event at =PR= Run & Walk in Midlothian and on race morning near Westhampton Green at the University of Richmond.
The event is organized by Sports Backers, a nonprofit with a mission to promote active living and support Richmond area charities. Age minimums apply for each distance and course time limits are enforced. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
