Vineyard City Gold Rush 5K & Kids 1K
The 2026 Vineyard City Gold Rush is a running event taking place in Vineyard, Utah, with the starting point located at Grove Park. Organized in connection with the St. Patrick's Day holiday, the event features two distinct distances:
- 5K: A chip-timed course that offers views of Utah Lake. Participants have the opportunity to receive a Golden Dollar coin if they finish ahead of the race's designated Leprechaun runner.
- 1K: A short-distance race specifically for children under the age of 12.
Participants in both the 5K and 1K distances receive a participation medal upon finishing. For the 5K race, winners' medals are awarded to the top three female and male finishers within various age divisions, ranging from under 14 to 60 and over. The top overall male and female finishers in the 5K and 1K categories receive gift cards to local retailers.
The event allows the use of strollers in both races, though children in strollers are not eligible for age division or overall placement awards. Parents or guardians may run alongside children in the 1K distance without a separate registration. A raffle featuring gift cards from local businesses is available for those who register before the mid-March deadline. Race shirts are available for an additional fee for those who register by February 18th.
The event offers specific registration structures for households and large groups. Participants also have the option to register for a race series that includes other local events such as Vineyard Days, Splash Dash, and Blizzard. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
