About the race
The Viking Relays & Races take place at South Mastick, Cottonwood Picnic Pavilion, in the Rocky River Reservation in Cleveland, OH. The event uses a 2 mile loop course and includes time-based and distance races.
Events include:
- 6 Hour Run : runners complete as many 2 mile loops as possible during the allotted time
- 6 Hour Relay : teams alternate laps on the 2 mile loop
- 3 Hour Run : runners complete as many 2 mile loops as possible during the allotted time
- 4 Mile Run : two laps of the 2 mile loop
- 4 Mile Relay : teams complete the 4 mile distance via laps
All events use electronic chip timing. Non-relay timing chips are attached to the back of race bibs. Relay timing chips are inside race batons; all batons must be returned after the race. All registered participants receive a bib and timing tag that must be worn on the front outermost article of clothing and may not be altered or transferred.
Dogs and strollers are not allowed on the course.
Early packet pickup is scheduled the day before the event at the Hermes Office in Cleveland, and awards are planned for each event, with top finishers recognized in overall and masters divisions and top teams and legs recognized for relays.
