Vidalia Onion Run - 2027
The Vidalia Onion Run marks its 50th edition on April 24, 2027, in Downtown Vidalia, Georgia (101 E. 1st St.). The event offers multiple distances and organized race services at that location.
Distances offered:
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 mile
The 5K and 10K races use chipped bibs for timing and will have timers stationed along their courses. Those courses will be marked with paint, signs, and traffic cones. Water, aid stations, and portajohns are provided along the 5K and 10K routes. Fruit and fluids including water and electrolyte beverages will be available at the finish area.
Registration is available online through race day, with in-person registration and early packet pickup offered before the event and on race day. Registrations completed on or before April 12 will receive a commemorative 2027 Vidalia Onion Run shirt. Registrations after April 12 are not guaranteed the chosen shirt size; shirts for late registrations are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration fees listed for the event are: 10K $40.00, 5K $30.00, and 1 mile $20.00.
Awards include overall top three female and male finishers in the 1 mile, 5K, and 10K, plus top three female and male finishers in all age divisions for the 5K and 10K. Age groups run from 10 and under through 80 and over. Cash prizes are offered for breaking course records in the 5K and 10K.
Pets are not allowed on the course or in the finish area, except for service animals on a leash. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
