Victor Walk: Calgary 2026
The Victor Walk is a national movement powered by an Orange Wave of Courage that gives a voice to people affected by childhood sexual abuse. It is presented as an annual awareness initiative supported by communities across Canada.
Breaking Free Foundation will host a Victor Walk in Calgary on August 16, 2026. Planned locations include the Peace Bridge on the Eau Claire side, a walk along Riverfront Avenue beside the Bow River, and a rally at 5th Street Plaza at 5th Street and 7th Avenue S.E.
Organizers note that participants may also take part virtually and that wearing orange on August 16 is a way to increase visibility for the movement. A form is available for those who wish to organize a Victor Walk in their own community. Funds raised through the Victor Walk go to the Therapy Grant Program administered by Breaking Free Foundation. The Victor Movement reserves the right to refuse participation and is not liable for any injury or damage arising from participation.
The event information also lists statistics on child sexual abuse: about one in two girls and one in three boys experience unwanted sexual advances before age 18, and 60 percent of rape victims are under 17. Sexual assault is defined to include all unwanted sexual activity, including rape. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
