Veterans Race - Buffalo, NY
The Veterans Race takes place on November 7, 2026 at 1 Naval Park Cove in Buffalo, NY, at the Buffalo & Erie Naval and Military Park. The event includes multiple running and walking options and is coordinated by Destination Races with presenting sponsor Richmond Vona.
Distances and categories:
- 5K for civilians and for veterans or active duty
- 10K for civilians and for veterans or active duty
- 400 m Kids "Cadet" Race for ages 2 through 8
- 2 Mile Walk not timed
The kids race is open to children ages 2 to 8 and follows the promenade past the naval ships; lineup is at the Hangar building. The 2 mile walk is not timed and follows a shorter route; finish times are not recorded.
Awards are given by age group for both veterans and civilians, with five year age brackets in the 5K and ten year age brackets in the 10K. The event has a participant cap of 800. There is no merchandise option this year. A post race gathering will be held at Southern Tier Brewing.
Pre-race packet pickup is scheduled for November 6 at the Richmond Vona offices, 192 Seneca St., Buffalo. There is no walk up or race day registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
