Veterans in Motion 5K
The Veterans in Motion 5K returns to Williamsburg, Massachusetts, for its third annual edition. Hosted by the American Legion Post 236, this athletic event takes place in the village of Haydenville. The primary purpose of the gathering is to raise funds for community veteran services and to support the financial stability of the local American Legion post, which provides various community programs including holiday events and gravesite maintenance for veterans.
Participants can choose between two distinct distances:
- 5 km Run/Walk
- 1.5 mi Fun Run/Walk
The event is held at 5 Bridge Street and utilizes a course through the local area. According to the organizer, the first 100 individuals to register for the event receive an official race T-shirt. In addition to the race categories, the event includes a fundraising component with leaderboards for those wishing to contribute further to the cause. All proceeds from the registration fees are directed toward supporting veterans and local community initiatives, such as programs aimed at assisting newly discharged veterans and veteran suicide prevention efforts.
