Veterans' Honor Run: 22 Hours of Tribute
This event is a 22 hour awareness and fundraising run held at Heritage Park in Canton, MI, with a virtual participation option. Organizers run the event to highlight that 22 veterans are lost to suicide each day and to raise funds for beneficiary organizations including Guitars for Vets, Therapeutic Riding Inc., and Leashes of Valor.
In-person participants loop on a paved path around Heritage Park. The redesigned loop is bridge free for improved safety and accessibility, and is roughly 1 mile per circuit with mostly flat terrain. The route passes near parking areas to allow easy access to vehicles. Participants may run, walk, or do both, and may start, stop, or take breaks as needed. Veterans may participate free using the coupon code VETERAN.
The event includes a staffed aid station with a variety of hot and cold options such as water, sports drink, coffee, soup, fruit, cheese, pizza, grilled cheese, PB and J, burgers, cookies, candies, and pretzels. Registrations include an event Sport Tek CamoHex t shirt and a Sport water bottle; shirts cannot be guaranteed for registrations after October 15. Heated restrooms are located adjacent to the aid station and start and finish area. Support crew may use base camp facilities; a crew pass donation is requested for those who do.
In-person entries will be chip timed. Virtual participants must track and submit their mileage by the published deadline to receive official credit. A live leaderboard will be active during the event and posted on social media. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
