Veterans Day Cross Country Run - Northport
The Northport Running Club organizes the Veterans Day Cross Country event on 11/07/2026 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center Golf Course, 79 Middleville Road, Northport, NY 11768. The event is part of the Suffolk County Veterans Run Series and supports hospitalized and homeless veterans on Long Island; proceeds have previously funded cultural events at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Northport.
The main race is an English-style cross country run held entirely on grass, a distance of 4K (2.48 miles). There is a separate 4K military service division for those who served or are serving in the military. A free Healthy People fun run/walk covers 0.5K (0.3 mile) and awards a dog tag to all finishers.
Registration details reported by the organizer:
- 4K Cross Country: $35 preregistration for most entrants; $25 for veterans or active military and youth 13 and under; day-of-race fee $40.
- 4K Military Service: $25 for eligible military entrants; day-of-race fee $40.
- 0.5K Fun Run/Walk: free entry.
The course does not allow pets or baby joggers. Race-day packet and number pickup are available in the morning at the VA Golf Course. Post-race refreshments, an awards ceremony, and raffles follow the races. Shirts are provided to the first 250 registrants.
