Vermont 50 Mountain Bike or Ultra Run
The Vermont 50 is an annual multi-event race weekend held at Ascutney Outdoors / Mount Ascutney in West Windsor (Brownsville), Vermont. Net proceeds benefit Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports; the event has supported Vermont Adaptive for more than three decades and has raised over two million dollars.
Events take place on the last weekend of September and include a range of mountain bike and running options:
- 50 Mile Mountain Bike Race
- 50 Mile Mountain Bike Tandem
- Women’s Two Person 50 Mile Mountain Bike
- Over 60 Two Person 50 Mile Mountain Bike
- 50 Mile Ultra Run
- 50 Mile 2-3 Person Team Relay Run
- 50K Run
- Kids Free Fun Bike Rides and Runs
The weekend also features family-oriented activities such as a hay bale treasure hunt, face painting, clowns, and other kid-centered events. The race does not allow e-bikes. The mountain bike event tends to fill quickly; registration for 2026 opens in May, with a loyalty list opportunity earlier in the month. Course and race logistics, aid station and crew information, and separate handbooks for mountain bikers, runners and crew are provided by the organizers.
