Event overview
The Vermont 50 is an annual mountain bike and ultrarun event held at Ascutney Outdoors / Mount Ascutney in West Windsor (Brownsville), Vermont. The 2026 edition is scheduled for September 27, 2026, the last Sunday in September. Net proceeds benefit Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports. The event has been held since 1993 and, as of 2026, marks 33 years of fundraising; historically the race has raised over $2 million and the 2026 fundraising goal is $50,000.

Some events are open to ages 12 and older; the Over-60 relay is open to ages 60 and older. General registration opens May 25, 2026; a loyalty entry option opens earlier on May 10, 2026.
Course and on-site details
The courses use the local Vermont landscape around Mount Ascutney. E-bikes are not allowed in the race. The weekend includes family-oriented activities such as kids’ fun runs and rides, a hay bale treasure hunt, clowns, and face painting.
