Vermont 100 Endurance Race

The Vermont 100 is a multi-distance endurance event held in July that includes both a 100 mile race and a 100 kilometer race. The event fields up to 450 runners and also runs a concurrent horse endurance ride with about 70 horses. Runners face 17,000 feet of cumulative climbing spread across the course and a 30 hour cutoff for the longest distance.

Distances:

  • 100 mile race
  • 100 kilometer race

The course follows country roads and forested trails and runs alongside views of the southern Green Mountains. Terrain features repeated rolling climbs described as unrelenting rollers. The event has a long history in American ultrarunning and is part of the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning. It is also the only remaining 100 mile event in the United States that includes a concurrent horse race.

All proceeds from the event support Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sport, an organization that provides adaptive sports and recreation opportunities for people with disabilities. The event schedule, aid station support, crew and pacer policies, and lodging information are organized by the race staff and published as event details for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
