Vermont 100 Endurance Race

The Vermont 100 is an ultrarunning event held each July and first established in 1989. The event features two main athlete distances and a concurrent equine competition.

  • 100 mile race on country roads and trails
  • 100 km race on country roads and trails

The course runs over country roads, through forested trails, and alongside views of the southern Green Mountains. Rolling terrain accumulates approximately 17,000 feet of climbing. The event information lists a 30 hour limit and fields of roughly 450 runners and 70 horses.

Vermont 100 is part of the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning and includes a concurrent horse race. The event is organized with aid stations, crew and pacer guidelines, and medical support as part of race details. All proceeds from the event benefit Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sport, an organization that supports sports and recreation for people with disabilities.

Race materials note lodging, directions to Silver Hill Meadow, volunteer opportunities, fundraising options, and a race history dating back to the late 1980s. The event also includes an endurance ride alongside the running races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
