Vegas Strong 5K
The Vegas Strong 5K and 1 Mile event takes place in Downtown Las Vegas, starting and finishing near the Llama Lot at 9th and Fremont Street. This community gathering commemorates the memory of One October and supports the resilience of the Las Vegas community. Participants have the option to run or walk the course, with net proceeds donated to various local funds and charities, including the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center and community scholarship programs.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 km
- 1 mile
The event features chip timing and live results for all participants. Runners receive a custom shirt, a large medal, and a "In Running Of" victim ribbon. Free race photos are provided after the event. For the 5 km distance, overall awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers, and division ribbons are awarded to the top three in various age categories ranging from 0-9 to 70+. Team plaques are also given to the ten largest participating teams.
The course is located on city streets, with the start line on the northwest corner of 9th and Fremont Street. Strollers are permitted on the course. Packet pickup is held on the two days prior to the event at designated local retailers. Parking is available at nearby commercial garages, including the Fremont Street Experience and Neonopolis structures. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
