Varsity Sports Marathon Retro Relay
The event in Baton Rouge stages relay versions of a marathon distance and a mini marathon on looped courses through Capitol Heights, Kleinert, Hundred Oaks and Webb Park areas. Relay teams may use any number of members to cover the total distance.
- 26.2 Miles three 8.7 mile loops through the named neighborhoods
- 8.7 Miles one loop
The course is open and does not have road crossing protection; participants should take care when running. Water stops are provided along the route. Team place will be recorded only to assign a number for a random drawing of multiple team prizes. All relay members receive a pink birthday relay baton.
There is a post-marathon party with food, margaritas, beer, wine and music by a DJ. Participants must wear creative retro running gear; awards will be given for best costume and best team of four or more.
