Vancouver Lake Half Marathon & 4 Mile Run : basic info
The event is scheduled for February 22 and takes place at Vancouver Lake Park, 6801 NW Lower River Road, Vancouver, WA 98666. The race is limited to 475 entries because of limited parking. Pre-registration fees are listed as $40 for the half marathon and $25 for the 4 mile event. Live results are posted within two minutes of finishing. Every half marathon finisher receives a medal. Awards are given to the top six males and females in each division of the half marathon, including the walk division.
Course, logistics and services
The course is described as very flat and begins inside the park near the north shelter. The route follows Reiger Road and a bike path to Frenchman’s Bar and returns to Vancouver Lake, with mile markers and orange cones at each mile. Water is provided at miles 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11; no sports drinks are offered. Port-a-pots are located at the start, the finish and at the Frenchman’s Bar turnaround. Packet pick-up is available on race day with an optional pickup the day before; uncollected packets become property of the organizing club. There is a clothing check on Reiger Road and another near mile 3. Parking at the park has a $3 fee and there is no free parking for carpoolers. T-shirts are available for purchase.
