Valley Vertikiller Trail Race : October 10, 2026
Valley Vertikiller is a trail race on Teq’qéyex (Sumas Mountain), held on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Sema:th (Sumas) First Nation. The event is positioned as a grassroots Fraser Valley season finisher and is part of the Fat Dog family.
Courses run mostly on single-track trails of varied technicality, moving through towering forests, past Chadsey Lake, across creeks, and to several viewpoints including an aid station at the Eastern Lookout. Aid stations are described as well stocked and the finish includes fully catered food, with homemade soup and pie for Canadian Thanksgiving.
Distances offered
- 30 km : nearly 1,500 m elevation gain, includes summit climb and technical descent.
- 20 km : nearly 1,000 m elevation gain, predominantly technical single-track.
- 10 km : Verticuddler, about 400 m elevation gain, flowy single-track route.
The 30 km features a Team Challenge for groups of five or more, with combined times of the fastest five determining team results; winning teams earn a team trophy and special prizes. Prize structure includes podium cash for top three finishers, a $500 first-place team cash bonus, rewards for new course records, and draw prizes. Registration opens February 1 on Race Roster.
