Valley Vertikiller Trail Race, October 10, 2026
Valley Vertikiller is a trail race held on Teq’qéyex (Sumas Mountain), on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Sema:th (Sumas) First Nation. It is the newest member of the Fat Dog family and is scheduled for October 10, 2026.
The event uses a network of mainly single-track trails that pass through forests, Chadsey Lake, creeks, and several viewpoints. The race offers three looped courses:
- 30 km, nearly 1,500 m elevation gain, climb to the peak, flowy technical descent.
- 20 km, nearly 1,000 m elevation gain, shares much of the 30 km route.
- 10 km, Verticuddler, 400 m elevation gain, flowy technical single-track, does not reach the peak.
Each course emphasizes technical single-track sections and varied trail features. The race provides well-stocked aid stations, fully catered finish-line food, custom racer swag, podiums and cash prizes. Additional awards include a $500 cash prize for the first-place team and draw prizes. The 30 km includes a Team Challenge scored by the combined times of the fastest five team members; winning teams receive a team trophy and special prizing.
