Valley Vertikiller Trail Race : October 10, 2026
Valley Vertikiller takes place on the trail network of Teq’qéyex (Sumas Mountain), on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Sema:th (Sumas) First Nation. The event is a grassroots Fraser Valley trail race and is the youngest member of the Fat Dog family.
The event uses loop courses that run mostly on singletrack trails with varied technical sections. Runners pass through dense forest, cross creeks, and see views across the Fraser Valley while moving near Chadsey Lake and up to the summit at viewpoints such as the Eastern Lookout. Well stocked aid stations are located on course and finish line catering includes homemade soup and pie.
- 30K nearly 1,500 m elevation gain with summit ascent and technical descent.
- 20K about 1,000 m elevation gain following much of the 30K route.
- 10K 400 m elevation gain without the summit ascent.
Prizes include cash for the top three finishers in each distance, cash for any new course records, draw prizes, and custom racer swag. The 30K has a team option that totals the top five finishers for team ranking and awards a 500 USD team prize. Registration opens February 1 on Race Roster.
