About the race
The Valley Vertikiller Trail Race is scheduled for October 10, 2026 at 37779 Taggart Rd, Abbotsford, BC. The event offers three loop courses run mostly on single-track trails with a mix of flowy and technical sections, and features well-stocked aid stations, catered finish-line food, custom racer swag, podium and cash prizes, and additional draw and course record awards.

The 30 km route has nearly 1,500 m of elevation gain, includes a sustained climb to the peak of Sumas Mountain, passes Chadsey Lake and several creeks, and includes viewpoints and an aid station at the Eastern Lookout. The course includes technical single-track and a flowy technical descent. A 30 km Team Challenge scores teams of five or more by the combined finish times of the fastest five members; winning teams have their name added to the team trophy and receive special prizing. Team members receive a 10% registration discount and teams are issued a discount code in advance.
The 20 km course has about 1,000 m of elevation gain, follows much of the 30 km route, and features technical single-track, Chadsey Lake views, and the Eastern Lookout aid station.
The 10 km Verticuddler has about 400 m of elevation gain, is a loop on lower Sumas Mountain with technical single-track and a short steep section at Time Killer.
Age and race rules: 10 years minimum for 10 km, 18 years minimum for 20 km and 30 km. Runners under 18 require parental or guardian consent and a consent form at bib pickup; a parent or guardian must remain on the mountain while the young runner is on course. Poles are allowed on 20 km and 30 km only and users must allow passing. Dogs are not permitted on course; leashed dogs are allowed in the finish area away from food. Deferral, no refund, bib non-transferable, and cancellation credit policies apply. The event is managed by FatDog 120 Race Management Inc.
