Valley Vertikiller Trail Race
Valley Vertikiller is a trail race on Teq’qéyex (Sumas Mountain) held on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Sema:th First Nation. The event is scheduled for October 10, 2026 and takes place on technical single-track trails that move through towering forests and offer sweeping views of the Fraser Valley.
The event offers multiple race distances:
- 10 km with about 400 m of elevation gain.
- 20 km with nearly 1,000 m of elevation gain.
- 30 km with nearly 1,500 m of elevation gain.
Courses pass features such as Chadsey Lake, raging creeks, and several viewpoints including an aid station at the Eastern Lookout. All distances use predominantly single-track trails with varied technical sections and include well-stocked aid stations.
Event services and prizes include fully catered finish-line food, custom racer swag, podium and cash prizes for the top three finishers, a $500 cash prize for the first-place team, rewards for new course records and draw prizes. A 30 km Team Challenge accepts teams of five or more, scored by the combined finish times of the fastest five team members. Registration for 2026 opens February 1 on Race Roster.
