Event
Medal Madness in Athens, Georgia is scheduled for June 13, 2026. The event includes three race distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon (13.1M)
The venue is the North Oconee River Greenway Trailhead at North Oconee Access Road, Athens, GA 30605.
Race details
All participants must register on RunSignup; there is no on-site registration. Packet pickup begins 30 minutes before the race and ends 10 minutes before the race starts. Listed entry fees are $30 for the 5K, $45 for the 10K, and $65 for the Half Marathon. The registration page shows 80 spots left for each event and registration ends on June 13, 2026.
Course information provided by the organizer: the 5K and 10K use a 1.56-mile segment as an out-and-back of 3.11 miles; the 5K completes that out-and-back once and the 10K twice. The Half Marathon uses a 1.64-mile segment as an out-and-back of 3.28 miles and repeats that out-and-back four times. The race has a course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes.
All finishers will receive a themed medal. Wearing a costume is encouraged but not required. The race earns points toward the US Road Running Race Series and has awards information and FAQs listed with the series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
