Event Overview
The Viking running event in Athens, Georgia offers three distances: a 5K, a 10K, and a Half Marathon. All races start from the same point on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
Race Details
The event takes place at the North Oconee River Greenway Trailhead on North Oconee Access Road. All races follow an out-and-back format on a paved greenway path.
- 5K: Runners complete one out-and-back loop of a 3.11-mile segment.
- 10K: Runners complete the same 3.11-mile out-and-back segment twice.
- Half Marathon: Runners complete four laps of a slightly longer 3.28-mile out-and-back segment.
A parking lot is located near the starting point. Packet pickup begins 30 minutes before the race start and closes 10 minutes prior. Registration must be completed online in advance; no on-site registration is available.
Additional Information
The course has an overall time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes. Every participant who finishes will receive a themed finisher medal. Costumes are encouraged but not required. The race awards points for the US Road Running Race Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
