US Road Running - Athens

Event details
The Viking 5K, 10K, & 13.1M takes place on February 14, 2026, in Athens, Georgia. The event is held at the North Oconee River Greenway Trailhead at North Oconee Access Road. Three distance options are offered:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon
All runners must register online through RunSignup; there is no on-site registration. Parking is available near the starting point.
Course and logistics
The 5K and 10K use an out-and-back course that measures 3.11 miles; the 5K completes the out-and-back once and the 10K completes it twice. The Half Marathon uses an out-and-back course that measures 3.28 miles and is completed four times for the half marathon distance. The event has a course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes. All finishers receive a themed finisher medal. Costume wearing is optional and encouraged. The race earns points toward the US Road Running Race Series.
