Upington Summer Triathlon 2026 : event summary
The Upington Summer Triathlon is a multisport event held at Waterfront Guest House & Venue on the Kalahari Waterfront in Upington beside the Orange River and nearby vineyards. The event offers multiple individual and team categories intended for a range of ages, including a kiddies race.
Distances and categories include:
- UST Challenge Individual / Teams Relay: 500 m swim, 22 km bike, 8.6 km run
- UST Half Individual / Teams Relay: 250 m swim, 12 km bike, 4.2 km run
- UST Junior Individual / Teams Relay: 125 m swim, 6 km bike, 2 km run
- UST Kiddies: 2 km
Entries are limited; only a set number of online entries is accepted and no entries are allowed on race morning. The first 120 paid entries receive a goodie bag; unpaid entries are removed after seven days. Registration and event notices are managed through an organizer messaging group. High-quality sublimated event shirts and other merchandise are available. Food and beverage are part of the event atmosphere, with braaivleis and beer mentioned. Prizes and medals are awarded, with an age restriction that participants must be able to complete their race without assistance to be eligible for medals and 1st–3rd place prizes.
