Union Founder's Day 10K | 5K
Union Founder's Day 10K | 5K is scheduled for May 9, 2026, and takes place at the courthouse square in downtown Union, Missouri (201 E Main Street, Union, MO 63084). Proceeds from the race will benefit the Union R-XI Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports students, staff, facilities, and programs of the Union R-XI School District.
The event includes two distances:
- 10 km
- 5 km
The race has returned to an evening start during Union's Founder's Day Festival. The festival setting includes a cornhole tournament, food trucks, live music, and other activities. After the race a complimentary beer is offered for those 21 and over. The celebration is sponsored by the Union Parks & Recreation Department and local businesses.
Packet pick-up is scheduled for Friday, May 8, 2026 (location and time to be determined) and on race day at the courthouse square. Registration notes include an early-bird period through April 9, 2026, online registration closing May 6, 2026, and late registration running from April 10 through race day; registrations submitted after April 9 are not guaranteed a shirt.
Medals will be awarded to the top overall male and female in each distance and to the top three male and female in each age group. Age groups are: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
