UNICO's Fall Walkathon
UNICO of Belleville, a chapter of the premier Italian American service organization in the United States, is partnering with the PSZbelieveFoundation and the Robert Luongo ALS Fund to raise funds for Essex County families affected by ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). The event takes place in late September 2026 at the Belleville Senior Citizens Recreation Center, located across from NANINA's in the PARK at 8 Franklin Ave, Belleville, NJ.
Participants may choose between two distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles) race or walk option
- 1.5 miles recreational walk
Check-in includes a free t-shirt. Free bagels, coffee, and water will be available before and during the walk. After the route through Branch Brook Park returns to the recreation center, hotdogs and drinks will be served and organizers will honor sponsors and representatives of families with ALS.
Registration opens August 6, 2026 and closes September 25, 2026. A registration fee of $40 applies. The event is presented as family-friendly and notes that children and friends are welcome. The route uses Branch Brook Park and finishes back at the recreation center for food and acknowledgments. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
