Event Overview
Ultra Trail Dubai is a multi-distance trail running event located in the mountains of Hatta, UAE. The event takes place over a weekend and utilizes the rocky single-tracks, steep wadis, and desert plateaus of the Hatta Wadi Hub area. The course features technical descents, mountain ridgelines, and remote wilderness terrain.
Participants can choose from several race formats:
- 100 km: A mountain ultra with a 26-hour cut-off time.
- 50 km: A mid-distance route through steep wadis and high plateaus with a 14-hour cut-off.
- 30 km: A scenic loop consisting of runnable trails and moderate climbs with an 8-hour cut-off.
- 15 km: A course featuring short climbs and rocky terrain with a 4-hour cut-off.
- 5 km: A route through lower trails and open terrain with a 2-hour cut-off.
- Night Relay: A 12-hour endurance event where teams of 3-5 runners complete as many 5 km loops as possible overnight.
- Mini Trail: A 1 km race designed specifically for children.
Logistics and Regulations
The event provides aid stations at critical points along the routes. Every registered runner receives an event shirt and a finisher's medal. Prize money is awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the 100 km and 50 km categories.
Strict rules are in place to ensure safety and fairness. Runners must carry mandatory equipment at all times, keep race bibs visible on their front, and remain on the marked paths. External support crews and pacers are only permitted at designated aid stations. GPX files for the routes are provided to participants one week before the event.
