Event overview
The Bath 50 Ultra Challenge takes place on Saturday 28 March 2026 in the City of Bath, with Bath Racecourse as the event basecamp. Around 2,000 participants start from the basecamp and follow looped routes that pass city sights including the Royal Crescent and sections along the River Avon, then extend into surrounding countryside. The event offers supported walking, jogging, or running options and includes a Solo Challenger start option, an Ultra March category for brisk walkers, and a new Trailblazerz competitive category for faster trail runners.

- 50 km - loop around the city, 1,000 m elevation
- 29 km - looped route, 650 m elevation
- 10 km - looped route, ~200 m elevation
Support and services
Routes are fully signed and tracked via a mobile App with GPS tracking. Rest stops are provided approximately every 12.5 km, with major stops around 25 km; the 50 km event includes a picnic at 25 km and hot food at the 50 km finish. Marquee-covered rest stops include catering, seating, changing rooms, and medical and welfare tents. Medical staff, paramedics, podiatrists, and massage teams are available, and a control room logs timing scans at rest stops. Food and drinks are included at stops, and finishers receive a medal, a finisher’s T-shirt, and a glass of fizz; the 50 km finish includes a hot meal while the shorter distances have a picnic finish.
