Bath 50 Ultra Challenge
The Bath 50 Ultra Challenge is a looped series of trail events centred on the City of Bath with a basecamp at Bath Racecourse. The event date is Saturday 28 March 2026 and around 2,000 participants typically set out on looped routes through the city and surrounding countryside, passing landmarks such as the Royal Crescent and sections along the River Avon.
Distances on offer:
- 50 km loop, approximately 1,000 m elevation
- 29 km loop, approximately 650 m elevation
- 10 km loop, approximately 200 m elevation
Routes are fully signed and supported with GPS tracking via an event app and a timing system that logs progress at rest stops. Covered rest stops occur every ~12.5 km with major stops about every ~25 km; catering includes snacks, drinks and a picnic at 25 km for longer distances, with a hot meal for 50 km finishers. Medical teams, podiatrists and massage facilities are available at rest stops, and a 24 hour control room coordinates safety and emergency support.
Event categories include Ultra March for paced walkers, Ultra Trailblazerz for faster competitive runners, and a Solo Challenger start option.
