Bath 50 Ultra Challenge
The Bath 50 Ultra Challenge is a supported trail event centred on the city of Bath with a basecamp at Bath Racecourse. The event offers looped route options through the city and surrounding countryside, passing sights such as the Royal Crescent and sections along the River Avon. The event date is Saturday 20 March 2027.
Distances offered:
- 50 km loop, approximately 1,000 m elevation.
- 29 km loop, approximately 650 m elevation.
- 10 km loop, approximately 200 m elevation.
Rest stops are provided at regular intervals. On the 50 km route there are stops at about 12.5 km, 25 km (picnic lunch), 37.5 km and 50 km (hot food). The 29 km and 10 km options have supplied rest stops and food appropriate to their distances.
Services include marquee rest stops, catering with snacks and drinks included, medical and massage teams, a fully signed route with pink arrows and glow sticks at night, and GPS tracking via an event app. The organiser operates a timing and control room system that scans participants at rest stops. Shuttle buses, transfers and parking are available at basecamp.
Entry categories include walking, jogging or running, solo starts, a timed Ultra March category for sub 12 hour walkers, and Ultra Trailblazerz for ambitious runners. Finishers receive a medal, a finisher T shirt and a glass of fizz and can download an official challenge certificate. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
