Bath 50 Ultra Challenge
The Bath 50 Ultra Challenge is a looped trail event centred on the city of Bath with basecamp at Bath Racecourse. Routes run around and through Bath, passing the Royal Crescent and along the River Avon, and include city sights and surrounding countryside.
Distances offered:
- 50 km : 50 km loop, approximately 1,000 m elevation
- 29 km : looped route, approximately 650 m elevation
- 10 km : looped route, approximately 200 m elevation
Rest stops are provided roughly every 12.5 km with marquee cover at larger stops. For the 50 km route there is a picnic at 25 km and hot food at the finish. Catering includes snacks, energy drinks and options for different dietary needs. Medical teams, podiatrists and massage services are available at rest areas and mobile emergency medical support is on call via the event control room.
The route is fully signed and marked with pink arrows and glow sticks when required, and participants have access to an event app with GPS tracking, training guides and route maps. Event options include an Ultra March category for brisk walkers, a Trailblazerz category for faster competitive runners, and a Solo Challenger start option. Shuttle transfers to local stations and parking at finish locations are available. Finishers receive a medal, a T shirt and a glass of fizz.
