Ugly Sweater 5K in Denver
The Ugly Sweater 5K is a themed 5K run/walk held in Washington Park, Denver, on December 20, 2026. The event is staged from the Mount Vernon Garden within the park. Washington Park covers 165 acres and is roughly one mile long by a quarter mile wide.
Registration fees vary by date, with multiple pricing tiers and a $5 discount for participants ages 17 and under. Registration includes a race logo shirt, a finisher medal, finish line food, a party-like atmosphere on course and at the finish line expo, fully stocked aid stations, professional chip timing with a disposable bib tag, and free photo downloads after the event.
The race uses the standard certified Washington Park 5K course and carries USATF certification number CO15012DCR. An aid station with water and Gatorade is located at mile 1.5. Bicycles, skateboards, and roller skates are not allowed in the race.
Packet pickup is available the day before the race at Runners Roost, 1685 S Colorado Blvd, Denver, with a race day packet pick-up option at the race site. Awards are presented near the finish line to overall male and female winners and the top three in each age group, with age groups extending up to 80 and over. The event is an official BOLDERBoulder qualifier and offers a virtual option that includes a shirt, medal, and bib mailed to participants.
