Event details
The 20th Annual UAB National Alumni Society Scholarship Run takes place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in Birmingham, Alabama at 3785 W Jackson Boulevard (Crestline Village). The event program includes these distances and options:
- 10K
- 5K
- Virtual Run
- 1 Mile Adult Fun Run
- 1 Mile Kid Fun Run
The course is described as flat, certified, and will be chipped and timed. The 10K is two loops of the 5K route. All participants (5K, 10K, fun runs, virtual) receive a packet with a t-shirt and finisher medal. Winner medals are awarded to first place overall and in each age and gender group for the 5K and 10K.
Purpose and logistics
The run is organized by the UAB National Alumni Society (NAS), a 501(c)(3). Since its start in 2007, the Scholarship Run has raised more than $1 million to support student scholarships, including awards for first-year, first-generation, legacy, and graduate students. Presenting sponsor is VIVA Health; additional local sponsors and vendors support the event. Online registration for in-person events closes on April 17, 2026; in-person registration on April 18 takes place onsite. Registrations after April 10 may not guarantee the desired t-shirt size.
