20th Annual UAB Alumni Scholarship Run
The UAB National Alumni Society hosts the annual Scholarship Run in Birmingham, Alabama. Established in 2007, this event has raised more than $1 million to support student scholarships for first year, first-gen, legacy, and graduate students at UAB. The race takes place in Crestline Village, featuring a course described as flat.
The event offers several participation options:
- 10K (two loops of the 5K route)
- 5K
- 1 Mile Adult Fun Run (for ages 13 and over)
- 1 Mile Kid Fun Run (for ages 12 and under)
- Virtual Run (participation in spirit)
All registered participants in the 5K, 10K, Fun Run, and virtual categories receive a packet containing a t-shirt and a finisher medal. The 5K and 10K races use chip timing to track results. Performance medals are awarded to the first-place finishers overall and within specific age and gender groups for the 5K and 10K events.
The race follows a rain or shine policy. For safety, participants with strollers are asked to start at the back of their group. Only certified support animals on a leash are permitted on the course.
