Tyler Brown's "I Hate to Run" Memorial 5K : event overview
Tyler Brown's "I Hate to Run" Memorial 5K is scheduled for Sunday, January 11, 2026, in Wilmington, DE, at Abessinio Stadium (1 Saint Rocco Way, ZIP 19802). Logistics, amenities and competition details
On-site amenities include a race long sleeve T-shirt, a free pint glass to all finishers, post-race snacks (pizza, hoagies, chips, cookies), beverages including free beer for participants over 21, a post-race celebration with a DJ, a free digital photo booth, and an awards ceremony. A ticket raffle will be held with prizes such as a signed Timberwolves jersey, a weekend stay at the Greenbrier Resort, a case of wine, restaurant gift certificates, and event swag. Parking is available at Abessinio Stadium and restrooms in the concessions building will be open on race day. A course map is provided for directional purposes.
Awards are given for Overall Male/Female and Overall Male/Female Master, plus the top three in each age group (male and female). Age groups are 9 and under; 10-13; 14-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; and 70+. Overall and Masters awards are based on gun time; age-group awards are based on chip time.
Virtual 5K participants may run or walk anytime and submit results online on the honor system. Virtual results do not count toward age-group awards and swag for virtual entries will be mailed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
