About the race
The TXFallenPD Tribute Event is a community fundraising event held at Doubletree Ranch Park in Highland Village, Texas. It began in 2008 as a police bike race and has grown into an event that supports the Texas Police Chiefs Association Foundation, which provides monetary assistance to families of Texas officers killed in the line of duty. Honoring officers who died in the line of duty remains central to the event.
Event activities include a road 5K run, multiple bike rides and races, and a kid ride with a cop. Additional on-site activities reported for the event include vendors, live music, yard games, a kid zone, food, and drinks. The event has raised funds for the Fallen Officer Fund since 2008 and the organizers report a multi-year total exceeding $500,000. The event aims to raise $50,000 for the fund in the current year.
Course notes:
- 5K run, USATF certified and chip timed.
- 8.5 miles bike rides, chip timed with portions on neighborhood streets.
One registration category is designated for first responders only and asks registrants to provide agency information. Start and finish for listed courses are at Doubletree Ranch Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
