Two Islands Half Marathon
The Two Islands Half Marathon takes place on Saturday 29 August 2026 in the Outer Hebrides. The race starts on the Isle of Berneray near the Gatliff Trust Hostel, crosses the causeway to North Uist and finishes in Lochmaddy at the Lochmaddy Hotel, which sponsors the event and provides lunch at the finish.
The distance is a half marathon. The route is gently undulating and is largely rural, running mostly on surfaced single track roads with very little traffic. Sea views are present for virtually the whole way. The route and distance have been officially measured by Scottish Athletics.
The event is organised by North Uist Amateur Athletics Club. Entries open on 5 January 2026 and close on 14 August 2026. Entry fees are shown as £13 for UKA members and £15 for non members. The organiser asks that participants pre-register where possible. The event has published terms, a disclaimer and a cancellation and refund policy.
