Two Islands Half Marathon
The Two Islands Half Marathon is scheduled for Saturday 29 August 2026 in the Outer Hebrides and is organised by North Uist Amateur Athletics Club. The event is in its 16th year and remains relatively small and exclusive because of its island location. It is timed at the end of the season when many other island races have already taken place.
The half marathon route starts on the Isle of Berneray near the Gatliff Trust Hostel, crosses a causeway to North Uist and finishes in Lochmaddy at the Lochmaddy Hotel, which sponsors the event and provides lunch at the finish. The route has been officially measured by Scottish Athletics. The course is described as gently undulating and is rural for its full length, with sea views for virtually the whole way. Most of the route is on surfaced single track roads with very little traffic.
Entry information recorded for this edition shows entries opened on Monday 5 January 2026 and closed on Wednesday 1 July 2026, with 69 participants listed. Entry fees were shown as £13 for UKA members and £15 for non members. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
