Two Islands Half Marathon
The Two Islands Half Marathon is a long-standing event located in the Outer Hebrides. Now in its 16th year, the race follows a rural route across two islands, starting on the Isle of Berneray near the Gatliff Trust Hostel. Participants cross a causeway to the Isle of North Uist and continue toward the finish line located in Lochmaddy at the Lochmaddy Hotel.
The course is held on surfaced roads, the majority of which are single-track sections with minimal traffic. The terrain is described as gently undulating and follows a route that provides sea views for nearly the entire duration of the race. The course and distance have been officially measured by Scottish Athletics.
The event is organized by the North Uist Amateur Athletics Club and takes place toward the end of the season. At the conclusion of the race, lunch is provided for participants at the finish line in Lochmaddy.
