Two Islands Half Marathon
The Two Islands half marathon is scheduled for Saturday 29 August 2026 on islands in the Outer Hebrides. The race is in its 16th year and remains relatively small because of its island setting. The route starts on the Isle of Berneray near the Berneray Gatliff Trust Hostel, crosses a causeway to North Uist and finishes in Lochmaddy at the Lochmaddy Hotel, which is the event sponsor and provides lunch at the finish.
The course is gently undulating and runs mainly on rural single-track surfaced roads with very little traffic. Sea views are present for virtually the whole route. The route and distance have been officially measured by Scottish Athletics. Entries are managed through the SiEntries system and require a SiEntries account. Entries open on 5 January 2026 and close on 14 August 2026. Entry fees are listed as £13.00 for UKA members and £15.00 for non members.
