Event Information
The Benbecula Half Marathon is held on the island of Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides. The race is the second event on the HEB 3/5 Challenge calendar. The start time is 11:00. Registration takes place at the Liniclate Sports Centre.
Race Details
The course features a mix of flat and undulating terrain. It runs along coastal roads, through villages, and offers views of the landscape.
Entry and Prizes
Entry fees were initially £29 and later increase to £33. Registration includes a finisher's t-shirt. There are prizes for the first three male and female finishers, for local runners, and for various veteran age categories (V40, V50, V60, V70). A cash prize is offered for breaking the current course records. There are also team prizes for the first all-male and all-female teams.
Rules and Regulations
The race is a Scottish Athletics Licensed Event run under UK Athletics Rules. Headphones are not permitted because the roads are not closed to traffic; wearing them will result in disqualification.
