Benbecula Half Marathon 2027
The Benbecula Half Marathon is held on the island of Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides on 29 May 2027. It is the second race on the HEB 3/5 Challenge calendar and is a Scottish Athletics licensed event run under UK Athletics rules. Registration takes place at the Dark Island Hotel.
The course uses island roads and combines flat and gently undulating sections. The route passes along coastal roads, through local villages and offers views of the surrounding landscape and wildlife. A Strava map of the route is available. The organisers note that the route may change.
Entry details include an early bird fee of £28 until 31 December 2026 and a standard fee of £32 thereafter. Entries open on 25 September at 7pm. The entry fee includes a finisher's T shirt. Competitors must be at least 17 years old on race day.
Prizes are awarded to top male and female finishers, local runners, and veteran categories V40, V50, V60 and V70 for both sexes. There are club prizes for teams of three, with separate awards for all female and all male teams. A £50 cash prize is offered for breaking the current course record for each sex. One prize is awarded per runner; local and veteran prizes cascade to the next eligible finisher.
Refunds and changes follow the stated policy: half price refunds up to 31 January 2027, name changes permitted until 31 March 2027, and no refunds or name changes after those dates. Entrants are subject to UK Anti-Doping rules for 12 months from the date of the competition. Headphones are not permitted on roads that are not closed to traffic, though bone conduction devices that do not sit in the ears are acceptable.
