The course follows a mix of gravel roads, forest service roads, and rolling hills. There are no trails on the course. Routes are marked and course maps are provided at check-in. Runners and teams are responsible for knowing and following the marked route; wrong turns must be corrected on foot.
Event rules and logistics include a prohibition on bicycles and listening devices, a required relay rotation order for relay teams, and a limit of one support vehicle per team or ultrarunner with vehicle size restrictions. Participants must run on the left and vehicles must drive on the right. Wave starts are used and support vehicles advance toward aid stations during the race.
Aid stations provide hydration and restrooms; medical personnel, including EMS and Wilderness First Responders, are on site. Drop bag delivery is provided for 50M runners to aid stations 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, and 11; for 50K runners to stations 1, 3, 11, 50K, and 1 (return). Designated spectator zones are listed for specific transition areas. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
