Tuscany Crossing
The Tuscany Crossing is an ultra-marathon event held in the Val d'Orcia region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The event features a variety of distances that traverse through medieval villages, ancient abbeys, and Romanesque churches. Participants run through a landscape characterized by green wheat fields, vineyards, and rows of cypress trees in the heart of Tuscany.
The course includes a mix of terrain such as dirt tracks, woodland paths, meadows, and river fords. It starts in Castiglione d'Orcia and passes through the areas of Montalcino, San Quirico d'Orcia, and Pienza. The route also nears natural landmarks like the thermal springs of Bagno Vignoni and Bagni San Filippo, with views of Monte Amiata.

Refreshment stops along the course offer local Tuscan products, including pecorino cheeses, cured meats, and traditional bread.
