Foothills Area YMCA Turkey Trot - Walhalla
The sixth annual Foothills Area YMCA Turkey Trot takes place on Thursday, November 26, 2026 in downtown Walhalla, South Carolina. The event is scheduled for Thanksgiving morning and will proceed rain or shine. It features a community 5K and a short kids dash for young children.

Registration is required and is open to YMCA members and non-members. Registration opens October 28 and closes November 26. Fees listed by the organizer are $35.00 for the 5K and $20.00 for the Kids Dash. Participants who register by November 17 will receive a race shirt on race day; later registrants will receive shirts after the event and will be notified by email when shirts are available for pickup at the YMCA.
Packet pickup is available the day before at the Foothills Area YMCA (370 Memorial Drive) and on race morning at the site. Parking is available on side streets and at Owens Park; participants should follow posted signs and volunteer directions.
Ten percent of proceeds will go to the City of Walhalla to assist local businesses affected by a fire. Awards include top three male and female finishers in the 5K, top three in the under-13 category, participation ribbons for the Kids Dash, and a Best Turkey Costume contest.
