Shinnston Turkey Trot & Gobble Wobble
This community running and walking event takes place on 11/26/2026 at 208 South Pike Street, Shinnston, WV 26431. The main course is a 3.1 mile loop that begins on the road and finishes on the rail trail. The walkers' course will be modified because of a rail trail slip.
Event offerings include races for different ages and abilities. Chip timing will be provided by Pike Street Bikes. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers: 1st $300, 2nd $200, 3rd $100. The 5K includes age group divisions for males and females that span from 10 and under through 70 to 99.
Early packet pickup is scheduled for November 25 at the Shinnston Lighthouse on Rebecca Street. The event supports the Shinnston Turkey Trot Scholarship; one male and one female high school senior who are enrolled in a cross country or track and field program in West Virginia will each receive $1,000. Remaining funds will be allocated to projects in Shinnston. Additional community features include a Biggest Team award called the Turkey Cup, a costume contest, and other lighthearted awards.
