Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Hendersonville, TN
The Tunnel to Towers 5K in Hendersonville is a community run and walk held on October 17, 2026 to honor first responders, remember the events of September 11, 2001, and support the Tunnel to Towers programs. The series was created to honor a New York City firefighter who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. This is the sixth year the event takes place in Hendersonville.
The event is a 5K (3.1 miles) open to running and walking. It is based at 513 Sanders Ferry Rd., Hendersonville, TN 37075. Registration is available in several categories with set fees: adult $25, first responders and military $20, youth (13 to 17) $10, and child (12 and under) $5. Day-of registration is permitted until the start of the run, though shirts and specific sizes are not guaranteed for late registrants. Packet pick-up details will be announced later.
Participants must display their bib on the front of their outermost garment. Fast runners predicting a pace faster than six minutes per mile are seeded in the front corral. The event is currently not timed and awards are kept simple, often recognizing participants who run in firefighter, police, or military gear. A water station will be available on the route and at the square. Emergency medical services and radio communications will be available on site. Registration fees do not count toward fundraising totals; donations are accepted and fundraising incentives are offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
