True Grit Wetwheels Challenge
The True Grit Wetwheels Challenge is an obstacle course event held in Ronez Quarry on Jersey's north coast. The route begins in waves at the top of the quarry and descends approximately 24 metres below sea level to the quarry floor. From there the course traverses rugged terrain, steep climbs, and industrial structures before a final climb back to the top with panoramic coastal views.
The event offers multiple categories with varying obstacle counts and age requirements:
- Obstacle Solo, approximately 16 obstacles, age 16+
- Obstacle Solo, approximately 26 obstacles, age 16+
- Quarry Elite, approximately 26 obstacles, timed competitive category, age 16+
- Obstacle Team, approximately 26 obstacles, teams of three, age 16+
- Youth Challenge Short Course, approximately 12 obstacles, Year 4+
- Youth Challenge Long Course, approximately 16 obstacles, Year 6+
- Family Ticket, approximately 16 obstacles
The event supports Wetwheels Jersey, a charity that provides accessible powerboat experiences for disabled people, including those with profound and complex disabilities.
Ticketing windows are specified as follows: Early Bird until Monday 31 August 2026; Standard until Sunday 31 January 2027; Late Entry until Thursday 22 April 2027. Age eligibility is determined as of 31 August 2027. All competitors must wear their race t-shirts, which will be issued at Race Pack Collection on Friday 23 April 2027.
