About the race
True Grit Sydney is a two-day obstacle race event at Dragle Farm, Lower Portland, Sydney, held across 27 and 28 February 2027. The course uses the natural terrain, including grassland, rainforest, swamps and cliffs, and features military-style obstacles built for the location such as A Frame, traverse ropes, monkey bars, pontoon bridges, tyre wall and big climbs.
Distances available:
- 30 km Challenge three laps (5 km, 10 km and 15 km)
- 15 km Elite timed competitive wave for 16+ years
- 15 km for participants 16+ years
- 10 km for participants 16+ years
- 5 km for participants 12+ years
The 15 km Elite wave is a timed, competitive category with required obstacle attempts and a 20 burpee penalty for each failed or missed obstacle; top finishers are recorded and receive prizes. Typical on-course provisions include at least one water station, medical access, finishers' T-shirt and electrolyte drink, and an optional finisher beer. Spectators enter free. On-site camping with toilets and showers is offered for a fee; pets are not permitted in the campground. Parking is available on-site for a fee, with special areas for mini-buses and coaches. Team entries are supported, including discounts for large groups. The event recommends long pants or leggings, long socks, and running or hiking shoes for the course.
