About the race
True Grit Sydney is a weekend obstacle event held at Dragle Farm in Lower Portland, NSW on 27 and 28 February 2027. The course uses natural terrain including grassland, rainforest, swamps and cliffs and is built with military-inspired obstacles designed for this location.
Participants can choose from multiple course options:
- 30 km Challenge three laps (5 km, 10 km and 15 km)
- 15 km Elite timed competitive wave with podium places and prizes
- 15 km
- 10 km
- 5 km
Obstacles listed for the event include A Frame, long carries, traverse ropes, monkey bars, walls, rope climbs, pontoon bridges, tyre wall and a big climb. The 10 km course typically features 30+ obstacles and the 5 km course around 15+ obstacles. Water is available on course, generally around the halfway mark, and additional hydration is recommended.
Festival facilities are on the riverbank and include food, music and a spectator area; spectators attend free. On-site camping is available with toilets and showers; pets are not permitted in the campground. Parking is provided on-site for a fee. Finishers receive a t-shirt and some on-course finish items such as a drink and optional finisher beer. Entry has age minimums: 16+ for most longer courses and 12+ for the 5 km.
